Sweet Protection Eyewear Care

Your Sweet Protection goggle or sunglasses are made to withstand quite a lot of hard treatment. Still, treating the product with respect and following a few of our simple guidelines you will prolong the lifetime of the product and ensure that your eyewear will deliver when you need it the most. In this guide we have gathered our best tips for lens care, storage, use and lens change.

General storage, transportation and maintenance of your eyewear

When not in use or when carrying them around, store the sunglasses in their case at a temperature between -10°C and +35°C. Keep away from direct sunlight and avoid exposure to high temperatures, such as the heat in a car without conditioning (e.g. car dashboard), because high temperatures may alter the features of the lenses.

Outer lenses – goggles: The outer lens is treated with a super oleophobic and a hydrophobic coating to help clear visibility and to make sure the goggles are easy to clean and maintain. To help preserve the optical quality of Sweet Protection outer lenses, your new eyewear comes with a woven, microfiber cloth bag specially designed for cleaning and storage. Hand wash and air dry the microfiber bag regularly.

Anti-fog inner lenses – goggles: To avoid fogging of the goggles, each inner lens is embedded with a premium anti-fog treatment. Do not touch or rub the inner lens, as you will deteriorate/ damage the anti-fog treatment. To clean the anti-fog inner lens, gently touch the inner lens surface with a clean microfiber cloth/goggle bag to absorb excess moisture. Do not use the Sweet Protection lens cleaning kit or any other cleaning agent on the inner lens.

Lens installation and removal – or lens change…

It is important that you only insert the correct lens manufactured for the specific goggle or sunglasses, e.g. it is only the Interstellar goggle whereas the Interstellar lenses fit. You get the picture. Still, we have to inform that failure to comply will affect the optical performance as the lenses will not stay put and will cause interference with your vision. In the following your will find instructional films on how to install and remove lenses for the Sweet Protection eyewear range.

Helmet fit guide

All Sweet Protection helmets are made to ensure your safety and comfort whether you are riding your bike, paddling down the river or snowboarding in the backcountry.

Our helmets are categorized in three main categories; ski and snowboard, bike and paddle sports. Each category has individual needs for use and certifications, and it is obviously some seasonal changes as well. Helmets made for ski and snowboard are designed, tested and certified with the materials and construction which endure the cold weather.

The helmets will keep you warm and they will work with your goggles. When you bike you typically would like to have as much venting as possible, hence the bike helmets have high focus on providing as good air flow as possible while still being as safe as possible. Here's a guide that will take you through how to size and choose the right helmet.

Sizing and fit

The circumference of the head isn't a perfect circle – nor do different people have the same length to width ratio. Therefore, looking at sizes without trying can be a tricky task. But let's give it go.

1. Measuring your head

To find the right size for you, wrap a measuring tape around the head, just above the ears and level front to back to find your circumference. Once you have your measurement, you can use the chart beneath as a guide to find your size. Keep in mind that all Sweet Protection helmets have adjustments systems and are delivered with fit pads to ensure the perfect fit.

2. Try the helmet

A proper fitting helmet should be snug all the way around your head. It should not move around and you don't want any excess space between the helmet and your head. But it should not be so tight that you feel pressure or pain points. You can easily perform a "shake test" to check how your Sweet Protection helmet fits. Shake your head around with helmet on. If it moves on its own or shakes separately from you head, the helmet is too big. Use your hand and move the helmet to the left and right, up and down. The skin on your head should move with the helmet without the helmet shifting on its own. You can choose to buckle the helmet now, and make sure the chin strap is tight and fastened correctly. It will not impact the fit of the helmet, just keep the helmet on your head.

The Sweet Protection helmets can be adjusted to fit your head perfectly either by adjusting with Occigrip solution or with the fitpads that comes with the helmet.

The Sweet Protection adjustable fit system

The Occigrip Turn-dial provides easy adjustment with a low volume mechanism. The Occigrip construction provides a firm and comfortable fit and prevents the helmet from rolling on your head. Adjustable in reach and height.
